Signs Your AC Won't Make It Through an Atlanta Summer

Metro Atlanta summers don't ease an AC system into the season, they push it hard from day one. If your system was already struggling last year, that strain tends to show up again, usually earlier and worse.
A few signs your system might not make it through the season without help:
- Warm air coming from the vents, or air that's cool but not cold
- Weak airflow, even with the thermostat set low
- The system running constantly without the house actually cooling down
- Ice forming on the outdoor unit or refrigerant lines
- Rising indoor humidity, even with the AC running
- The unit is 10 to 15 years old, the typical lifespan for most systems
None of these mean you automatically need a new system. Sometimes it's a dirty coil, a refrigerant issue, or a failing capacitor, all repairable. But the earlier a struggling system gets looked at, the more options you have: repair now, or plan a replacement on your own timeline instead of in the middle of a 97-degree week with no AC.
If any of this sounds familiar, it's worth getting ahead of it before peak summer.
